2012 Race Cancelled! Greetings Mushers and Mushing Fans! With no significant snow in the forecast, we are canceling the entire race. The weather forecast is dismal and even if we DID get a huge dump of snow the week before the race, it will not give us enough time to mark the course. Our biggest concern is the safety of the mushers and the dogs. We just don’t want teams out on a potentially marginal trail the first time folks can get onto a sled. This really doesn’t seem logical to us. Mushers – you will be receiving a full refund for your entry fee. If you paid using the PayPal option, I will be sending you a check (I will not be refunding your entry fee via PayPal). Finally – I would like everyone to know how much hard work was done by the race volunteers to completely redo the race website, and the race start, finish, and routes. These folks ROCK and I do appreciate all their hard work! On the positive side of all this – we are totally READY for January 12th and 13th, 2013. See you then! Ellen Bogardus-Szymaniak |
